" I march for ______" champions the growing sense of national female activism by giving an intimate look into both the unique and shared current sentiments of the country's majority-female voters.

On January 11th, one week before the Women’s March, director Sam Campodonico-Ludwig posted an open call for women planning to participate in the march in their respective cities. Receiving over 100 inbound messages from across the country, 15 women, from all walks of life, were interviewed at a studio in New York City. The interviews captured were extremely candid with no leading from Sam. The one stipulation was that the women not use the “T word” (Tr*mp) to avoid sensationalizing one man when the problems and movement have a much deeper history (and deserve more respect).

A large part in crafting this piece is the inclusion of volunteer-generated-content. Each volunteer was asked to self-record their experience at the protest using their phone. Normally, UGC (user-generated-content), is frowned upon due to its inconsistencies and poor quality, however this is exactly what the director and production team hoped for, a genuine, imperfect film, perfectly fit for this grassroots movement and intentions.

This film was released on International Women’s Day (#IWD), Wednesday March 8th, 2017 on The Guardian, The Scene and Convicts.
